A great opener to the season!

The second week of the season brought better running weather which I'm sure was much appreciated by the competitors. Nick Blakley was the sole winner returning from week 1. Not only did Nick return, but he was also the overall male winner in both the 200M and 400M dashes! Blakley was joined as a double event winner by Addisyn Hoffman and Mike Jackson. Mike Jackson rabbited the 1600M and went on the win both the 800M and 3200M runs with an impressive 2:09 and 10:11 respectively. Addisyn defended her title as the overall female winner in the 800m run with a time of 2:50. She added another win to her growing list as the 1600M run champ with a time of 5:50. Logan Cole was the lone competitor in the true mile (1609 meters) with a blazing fast time of 4:32.65.
The 100M kids race was adorable as always. It's difficult to describe, but definitely one to watch. The words "run through the line" are heard a lot. While times were not recorded, the 4 x100m relay remains a fan favorite. To complete the teams, a few volunteers hopped in the race. Melissa Joest ran an impressive 3200m as the only female in the last event of the night. She ran a majority of the race in no-man's land. Her time was a mere 6 seconds from the All Comers record. No doubt that with competition she would have broken it. Looking forward to another week of

The meet was cancelled due to weather, which is a very rare occurrence for All Comers.

The rain stayed away, but kept the weather cool and great for running. Two meet records were broken! The off distance night is unique in that there is only one week a year for some of these records to be broken. David Czerwonki went out fast and held on to break the four-year 1200m record by three seconds. Thanks to pacing and wind block from Brandon and Andy as well as encouragement from all, Katie was able to finally break the seven year 2400m record. The 4x100m relay team was only 2 seconds away from breaking that record. Two more meets remain this season. We're looking forward to Olympic night and seeing how many more record-breaking performances we'll see.

The potential storms couldn't stop runners from giving it their all to earn a medal and showcase impressive performances! There were many multiple event winners! Will Coggins rocked the triple crown with a victory in the 100, 200 and 400m dashes! Erin Mayer represented in the distance double, winning both the 1500M and 800M run. Maryn Carter ran a speed sprint double with her wins in both the 200M and 400M dashes. In the final event of the night with a small field, Don Andrews ran tough all by himself in a great effort to break the 20-minute barrier. Shout out to Jacob, who although he doesn't appear as the overall event winner, he ran every event of the night!

Impressive times in the sprint races this week and this season. The records are definitely within reach. Jacob once again ran every event. I think he is the winner of this year's mileage award. The Zionsville Boys Cross Country team brought some tough competition to the 3200M run.

Thank you to all of the competitors for an awesome season! We would love to see more runners come out, especially females in the distance events.
